NEW DELHI: The federal government on Tuesday directed all web service suppliers to dam 59 Chinese language cellular apps below emergency clause of the IT Act, based on sources.
The order has been issued in two units — the primary set comprises record of 35 apps and the opposite 24 apps based mostly out of China, the sources mentioned.
“Order to dam all 59 Chinese language apps to web service suppliers have been issued now,” a telecom ministry supply instructed PTI.
The record has similar set of apps as was introduced by the federal government on Monday. It consists of identify of TikTok, UC Information, UC Browser, Viva Video, Mi Video Name, Bigo Stay, Wechat and many others.
“The federal government has issued internet hyperlink together with IP addresses which is able to make Web service suppliers to simply block the entry to Chinese language apps,” an trade supply mentioned.
